Britney Spears Live in Bangkok 2017 – concert review

It happened! She was here! The princess of 2000s pop graced Bangkok with her presence and just put an end to her first out of two concerts in the city of angels. As I’m not necessarily a huge Britney fanboy I wasn’t all freaked out and psyched up but still rather happy to see a pop icon that somewhat influenced me growing up. With all the trouble Madonna made when she came to BKK we kind of expected Britney to have a similar diva’esque entrance and were already prepared to…

Thaismai Muay Thai Boxing Gloves Review

Since my last Muay Thai gloves (TopKing) didn’t last that long I had to get some new ones and decided to go for the ThaiSmai this time. The best gloves I had so far were the Boonsport ones but since their stock is always rather small and I like trying new things I figured I should try something different this time. When checking out shops and stores for different gloves I always asked if there are any gloves that match the boonsport style, bit tighter and longer down the wrist,…

Tonsai Bay Resort – Tonsai Beach, Krabi, Thailand [review]

Krabi is a pretty well known beach getaway for lots of visitors and locals in Thailand alike. This, unfortunately, also leads to Krabi now slowly starting to feel like many other beach towns such as Phuket or Hua Hin. Lots of shops, sales people and more of the same. Luckily there’s still a little piece of quietness left which sits a few minutes by boat away. While most people know Railey beach and opt for resorts there Tonsai beach, just one corner away, has a different charm but we talked…

Indian Restaurant Bawarchi [Review]

Hello and welcome to another mouthwatering my-thai.org episode. Since we take our food here seriously we were more than happy to add another experience to our food journey. This time we had the chance to dine at the Indian Restaurant Bawarchi. I don’t want to spoil the review below but it was really good and even while writing about it I already start to miss the bread! #Naan4Life Location The location of Bawarchi Restaurant is as convenient as it gets. Less than a five minute walk from BTS “Chidlom”, right…

Mankong Phranai Muay Thai Gym [review]

MKPN is different. In a good sense. At least speaking from a personal perspective. It’s rather small compared to most other gyms you’ll find on this and other lists but the coaches there are pretty great and aren’t only there to hold pads but also to actually correct you with your technique and give you some real fight tips that can improve your game dramatically. I’ve seen a lot of people come and go there, especially foreigners are often a bit scared / surprised by how small the place looks…

Nong Real Seafood – Restaurant on Koh Larn

A better choice compared to the Puang Phayom restaurant that we tried before. It’s a bit further away from the action but therefore food is better and the staff is much nicer. Atmosphere It’s rather quiet there and since it’s a bit further away from the ‘centre’ it’s less likely to get really noisy. It offers some kind of sea view even though it’s not immediate (see the pictures below) but overall it has a rather chilled vibe to it which is nice while on a quick beach getaway. Food The…

Baan Talay Dao Hua Hin [hotel review]

During our latest trip to Hua Hin we decided to try a different accommodation than usual and went with Baan Talay Dao at Kao Takiab. Our stay there was, well, let’s say there’s room to improve. Let’s break it down: How to get to Baan Talay Dao Hua Hin It’s rather easy if you don’t mind taking the local Song Teaw (mini bus). Just go to Hua Hin by van or train and then wait for the local green mini bus. It will cost you 10-15 THB per person all the way…

Wandering around Or Tor Kor Market (ตลาด อ.ต.ก.)

Today, I’m going to take you to the main food hub in Bangkok! Taking the MRT subway and getting off at the Kamphaengpetch Road station, you will arrive at Or Tor Kor market, the Marketing Organisation for Farmer, widely called ตลาด อ.ต.ก in Thai. It’s located in front of Chatuchak market, which most of you may be more familiar. Why do we have to come to this market? That’s a good hit before getting to know what this place actually is. You may think that all of the fresh markets…

Stationery Hunting in Siam P. 1

Hello, everyone! Today is time to read a special blog from me SwiththeK on my-thai.org. Since I’m a stationery blogger then the topic for today can’t be anything except a story of stationery but for this time I’m not going to review a stationery, I’m going to write about where you can find a stationery at Siam, the areas which have many shopping malls and I can say that this place is a heart of Bangkok. I choose this place to be an example for you all to see how…
