Ladies and Gentlemen, boys and girls, children of all ages. Once again it was time for Bangkok to play host to ONE Championship’s impressive Martial Arts event. The card looked good even though we didn’t see ONE’s marquee star, Angela Lee, this time around, we still had a championship fight and lots of fights with Thai fighters in it to look forward to. Fight results first, event review at the end.  PRELIMS Fighters in the prelims don’t fight in front of a big audience as people seem to be too…

Angela Lee defends ONE Championship Title in Singapore

ONE Championship Strawweight Champion Angela Lee defended her title last night in Singapore for the second straight time (after having her first title defense here in Bangkok earlier that year) against Istela Nunes who was, up until that point, also unbeaten. Lee not only won but even scored the victory via Anaconda Choke which is, according to her post fight interview, one of her favorite submission moves. A bit later on one of the founders of ONE Championship, Chatri Sityodtong posted the following on his official Facebook account: The world…

ONE Championship brings MMA World Championship to Thailand

Fighting fans listen up! ONE Championship is going to bring one of the biggest MMA events in Asia to Thailand! I could just rewrite the announcement that Chatri Sityodtong made today but I think reading and listening to his own words transmit the message much better. So here’s the announcement. Question now: Are we excited about that or would we rather stay ‘classical’ with Thai style Muay Thai fights and less show? Shout out in the comments! Today was a very emotional day for me. Many years ago, I left…
