Pinnacle Grand Jomtien (Pattaya) [review]

A few days ago it was time for another short beach getaway. Due to the current rainy season and limited time Pattaya became the choice since it’s quite close to Bangkok and easy to reach. Here’s the review for the Pinnacle Grand Jomtien that was our home for 2 nights. Location Pinnacle Grand Jomtien The location is ok for a resort away from the city. It’s quite off the road down a long alley and therefore difficult to reach via bus or van. If you want to go there by…

Vongdeuan Resort Koh Samed [Hotel Review]

A few days ago we visited Koh Samed. It was the first time in quite a while for me. Here’s my review of the resort we stayed at, the Vqngdeuan Resort. Overall review of Vongdeuan Resort: Nice location. Certainly more quiet than Haad Sai Kaew. The restaurant staff is nice too. However the staff at the reception is quite unfriendly and not welcoming at all. As many other comments suggest that’s mainly due to the fact that they only care about foreign tourists and less about locals. The overall cleanliness…

Hotel Sahara Mandalay Review

Before my arrival in Mandalay I did something I don’t do too often, I booked ahead. I booked the Hotel Sahara thanks to a promotion on agoda and its “fantastic” reviews. The hotel is quite easy to find since it is located quite close to the temple and not far away from the clock tower (which is easy to find on maps in case you need to tell the taxi where to go). Upon arrival the welcome by the hotel staff was super friendly. Very nice and helpful. While preparing the…

Guesthouse Review: Sunshine Guesthouse Hua Hin

During our short trip to Hua Hin we stayed away from noisy and party heavy Soi 61 but moved down to Soi 65 where the rooms might be a bit more expensive but therefore also more quiet. We ended up here at the Sunshine Guesthouse and had quite a good experience. The Rooms @ Sunshine Guesthouse Hua Hin The rooms are quite decent. The have rooms with a double bed for two persons or even bigger ones for three people. The prices vary from 700 THB (low season, smaller room)…

Hotel Review: Jan Condotel Udon Thani

During my latest visit to my ‘hometown’ Udon Thani I decided to give another accommodation a try. Since I planned on visiting my former college I was looking for something not to far away but also not to far away from the city or recreational spaces like Nong Prajak Park, Thung Sri Muang or markets. Furthermore I didn’t want to spend thousands of Baht since I didn’t plan on staying at my room for most of the time anyways. Entrance: Jan Condotel. Located quite close to Udon Thani Vocational College…

Hotel Review – Sritrakarn Hotel Udon Thani

During my comeback to Udon Thani the past long weekend I tried another hotel and chose the Sritrakarn Hotel for my stay. Before we get into the in depth personal opinion let’s see the neutral rating: Location: Awesome. Right next to the bus station and Central Plaza. Going out in UD Town at night? Shopping at Central during the day, taking a bus somewhere? Everything’s fine and easy to manage. Great spot! Staff: Overall friendly and able to speak decent English. However with a negative touch in the end as…

Hotel Review: iHouse – New Hotel – Vientiane

During my last Visa Run to Vientiane, Laos I decided to take on a new accommodation and after coming across a web promotion on agoda I chose iHouse – New Hotel as my destination. While I usually settle for guesthouses I decided to pay a little more (around 530 THB thanks to the promotion) and stay in a decent non-party environment with working wifi and relaxing atmosphere. So the plan. So, once more, let’s check my latest accommodation My-Thai style: Location: The location is pretty cool! Quite close to Namphu –…
