Sunshine Beach Guesthouse Prachuap Khiri Khan

During our stay in Prachuap Khiri Khan we opted for a reservation prior to our arrival. I don’t do that too often but since a Thai Public Holiday approached we simply didn’t want to spend to much time running around figuring out where to stay. So I checked a few websites and send a few emails. One of the places that responded the fastest (and very polite) was the Sunshine Beach Guesthouse. A quick check of the map showed that it was located close to the beach and even at…

Guesthouse Review: Sunshine Guesthouse Hua Hin

During our short trip to Hua Hin we stayed away from noisy and party heavy Soi 61 but moved down to Soi 65 where the rooms might be a bit more expensive but therefore also more quiet. We ended up here at the Sunshine Guesthouse and had quite a good experience. The Rooms @ Sunshine Guesthouse Hua Hin The rooms are quite decent. The have rooms with a double bed for two persons or even bigger ones for three people. The prices vary from 700 THB (low season, smaller room)…

Guesthouse Review: Your House 2 Guesthouse Chiang Mai

During another pretty cool stay in Chiang Mai I tested another budget guesthouse. I usually never spend much at ‘home’ when I’m in Chiang Mai so budget is the way to go – at least for me. This time I was there with my little sis so we went for a twin room. Here’s the review of Your House 2 Guesthouse Chiang Mai. Atmosphere: They’ve got 3 houses there. Your House 1, Your House 2, Your House 3. Your House 2 is by far the one that looks the most…

Beach View By Beach Resort Koh Samui Traveling

By Beach Resort Koh Samui – Amazing value for money.

Finally I made it to Koh Samui and since I was traveling with my little sister who visited me for three weeks over here I did something I don’t do very often in Thailand: I booked in advance via agoda.com. The guesthouse I booked was the By Beach Resort and it was, by far, the best place I ever stayed in at this point! Me and my sister (17) travelled on a budget as backpackers and where looking for something that most backpackers want. Close to the beach and affordable. By…

Hostel Review: Thara House – Bangkok

Time for another accommodation review. A few days ago I happened to stay in Bangkok once again and, after some time, I chose a destination close to Khaosan Road. After having spent the last visits in Hua Lamphong I simply wanted to go back there since I missed…not Khaosan….but the ferry boats that leave from the nearby Phra Attit Pier. This time I chose the Thara House as my home base and was, well, not that satisfied. However the nice things first: The rooms are nice and tidy. Nothing to…

Your Place Guesthouse, Hua Lamphong, Bangkok

Once more another weekend in the Big Mango. Once more another guesthouse. Once more disappointed. Especially after my last hostel experience in Chiang Mai it is quite disappointing how little guesthouses in Bangkok care about their customers and how expensive they are in comparisson. Sure, Bangkok is not Chiang Mai – but that’s not necessarily a good thing. Location: Not in the main hostel area around Khaosan Road – what I was looking for. More quiet and relaxed however still party at night and not as chilled as expected and…

JaiDii House Chiang Mai

While celebrating New Year’s Eve and some camping action in Chiang Mai last week, I stayed in two different guesthouses. The second guesthouse I chose after coming back from the camping adventure was JaiDii House. This is a review. Location: Pretty cool again. Also right in the ‘hostel heart’ of Chiang Mai along the ‘Bar Road’ Moonmuang Road. In my opinion it is also the coolest street that goes off from Moonmuang Road, Soi 6, since it is next to the Somphet market. In contrary to the before discusses Mojito Guesthouse,…

Mojito Guesthouse Chiang Mai

While celebrating New Year’s Eve and some camping action in Chiang Mai last week, I stayed in two different guesthouses. The first one I chose for my night during New Year’s Eve was the Mojito Guesthouse. Here is a short review. Location: Pretty cool. Right in the ‘hostel heart’ of Chiang Mai along the ‘Bar Road’ Moonmuang Road. In my opinion it is also the coolest street that goes off from Moonmuang Road, Soi 6, since it is next to the Somphet market. Staff: Pretty friendly and relaxed with a…
