JaiDii House Chiang Mai
While celebrating New Year’s Eve and some camping action in Chiang Mai last week, I stayed in two different guesthouses. The second guesthouse I chose after coming back from the camping adventure was JaiDii House. This is a review.
Location: Pretty cool again. Also right in the ‘hostel heart’ of Chiang Mai along the ‘Bar Road’ Moonmuang Road. In my opinion it is also the coolest street that goes off from Moonmuang Road, Soi 6, since it is next to the Somphet market. In contrary to the before discusses Mojito Guesthouse, JaiDii also has a nice communal area outside the house to chill and relax.
Staff: Quite ok, not to talkative but reasonable.
Internet: Yep. Secured Wifi. You gotta ask for the password.
Accommodation: The rooms are tidy and equipped with real beds and one closet. Furthermore there is a fan and an air-condition (that wasn’t working in my case). The private bathroom was alright and the hot shower was working quite ok.
Price: 300 Baht / Double Room. Compared to Bangkok it is, obviously, cheap. However there are many more guesthouses with similar prices (or way cheaper) that offer much more. It was ok for the night since we didn’t spend much time there and the communal area looked decent. Furthermore I like the location close to Somphet Market. Nevertheless I’ll look for an alternative next time.
Ooh’s and aah’s: I reserved the room via hostelworld.com and everything went well. The staff could have been a little more welcoming or talkative but it still was ok. So if you are a thinking about staying there, there is nothing that speaks against it.
