Hotel Review: Jan Condotel Udon Thani

During my latest visit to my ‘hometown’ Udon Thani I decided to give another accommodation a try. Since I planned on visiting my former college I was looking for something not to far away but also not to far away from the city or recreational spaces like Nong Prajak Park, Thung Sri Muang or markets. Furthermore I didn’t want to spend thousands of Baht since I didn’t plan on staying at my room for most of the time anyways.

Entrance: Jan Condotel. Located quite close to Udon Thani Vocational College and Nong Prajak Park it already fit those criteria. Not being a high end hotel also matched my planned budget. Furthermore other places of interest (at least for me) are all in walking or Songtheaw (Minbus – 30 seconds away) distance.

Around Jan Hotel it’s quite quiet since it is located in a pretty small soi (narrow street). Opposite the hotel is a family run convenience store but if you really need a 7-11 the next one is only 30 seconds (maybe a minute) away around the corner.

The area around the hotel is clean and tidy and the staff is super friendly and welcoming. Guests are both Thai and international and everybody’s been treated the same friendly way. All guests I met were quite happy when talking about the staff and the hotel itself.

The room was clean and spacious. Clean bathroom, TV, Air-Con, fridge, everything working. Nothing to complain! + The free wifi is reliable and really fast – especially compared to other (expensive) hotels. Overall I was very happy with my stay and it seems like I found the first hotel in Udon that I would recommend further.

So if you go to Udon and if you’re looking for a nice, clean and friendly place a little off the party area give Jan Condotel a try. Even though I still think Condotel (Condominium + Hotel?) is a strange name – but that doesn’t matter of course!
